11/29-National Geoghraphic

Photo: Swimmer at the top of Victoria Falls

I chose this picture because of it's sheer beauty. I'm a big fan of photography, and all of the pictures I saw on the National Geographic website were gorgeous. It was so hard to pick just one.

I picked this one though, because of the brilliant camera angle. The was the photographer shot it made the water shine directly under the mans feet, whether is was intended or not. The angle also make him more of a silhouette, but still showing some of his features, rather then if the sun was directly behind him, which would make him almost a complete shadow. The BEST thing about the angle though, is not only dose it show how close the man is to the edge, but the vast deepness of the cliff behind him.

I was drawn to this picture because it made me feel so fragile, and small. It's more of an amazed feeling, seeing something that huge and beautiful next to a skinny, frail human. It's extraordinary.

I really love seeing pictures like this, showing something bigger then ourselves, in one quick moment. It's always nice to think more abstractly, whether you're an art major or not, viewing art is always a good time. A lot of people don't understand that you really don't need to adore art to have a valid opinion of it. It's everywhere, and one person could see more art a day then they realize. All you need is your own opinion.

But I feel like this picture shows way more then just a guy in water, near a cliff. It gives way more emotion then that, some I can't decipher, and others that are just to plain to not see. It's strange how simple it looks, yet how complicated it meaning may seem. Not only that, but different people see very different meanings.

11/24- Top Ten of Nate Zobrest

#1. He can squirt fire out of his nostrils
#2. He once saved a baby from being eaten by a tiger. How? He upper cutted the tiger right in the face.
#3. He can catch a falcon-mid flight-with his bare hands.
#4. He can fiddle with his feet.
#5. Not only is he Nate Zobrest, but he's also Batman.

#9. He's the break dancing champion, and has been so for the past three years.
#10. Because he is Nate Zobrest...duh.

11/22- "Fear Builds Walls"

What does it mean?

Well in my opinion, it has something to do with how fear only breeds ignorance, while ignorance breeds fear. We're all scared of something, and most of those times its because there's something about it we don't know. Humans naturally fear the unknown. And usually if we're scared of something, we stay far away from it. So we'll never learn about it, reinforcing the 'fear breeds ignorance'.

If we fear something we'll become prejudice against it, whether it's from needles or some person. You'll hate them. Are you scared of spiders? Then you obviously hate spiders. And in some cases, like spiders, it doesn't necessarily create walls. But in other cases, like you're afraid of a person, whether you have a real legit excuse as to why or not, it'll build walls. You hate what they do, you hate what they stand for, you don't want to be involved with them, and you'll get protective of yourself if they're around.

Fear Builds Walls.

It's weird how people work. But to be honest, it's quite simple. If one of your best friends said a hilarious joke, you'd laugh, right? But what happens if someone to hated said it? You'd glare at them and probably say something along the lines of "Was that supposed to be funny?"

Think about it, really. It's just our initial reactions. It's human.
If someone's a threat, we fear them, and that fear turns into anger. And either way, it makes someone protective and closed off.

11/16- Fav Holiday

HALLOWEEN.

No doubt. If anyone even reads these blogs, you'll learn that I am a HUGE horror fan, and love costumes. So the holiday that devotes itself to horror and dressing up, I'm thumbs up for.
My favorite part about this holiday is probably the haunted houses. And I'm not talking about the lame ones. I'm talking about the Haunted Catacombs, and Fright World.

I love seeing scary movies, and they seem to come in the masses during Halloween. This year I saw a few, and I personally thought it was AWESOME~ I also REALLY like candy. Like....a lot.
So getting an insane amount of sugar just tops the whole thing off!

I remember when my mom used to make Jake and my costume all from scratch every single year. It was so fun to just tell her what I wanted, and seeing what she did with it. She was really good at knowing exactly what to do with the costume to make cool effects. It was awesome.
She was also really good at doing my make up and hair.

Now, I'm learning to do it all on my own. And so far...I'm not doing so hot. But I'm still learning, and I'm getting it all at a steady pace.....I think. I hope.

There's plenty of other talents that incorporate themselves into making a costume. In the 2009 year, I was a whale for Halloween. I didn't sew anything. Y'know what I did? I bent chicken wire into a whale shape, and paper mache'ed the whole thing, and spay painted it all. It took a little time, but it was super easy.

Halloween's always fun for me. ALWAYS. And every year, I clean out my candy bag in less then a week. It's just that good for me. DELICIOUS~
I even steal a bunch from my brother Jake.

11/16- Winning

Winning. To me it's all about knowing that you have succeed in something.

It's not so much about beating someone, or the trophies and glory. I find it as an accomplished feeling because I know I have pushed myself, either body, mind or both, to improve and get better.

Winning is a very weird thing to discuss for me, I'm having trouble describing how I feel about it. Because I'm not trying to go the really cheezy way and say the nice thing "Winning doesn't matter."

Because in my belief, it dose. Now I know what you're thinking. "Wow Morgan, what a really cruel thing to say!" But It's different then that. It's not that I'm saying I don't care what happens, if I win I'm happy, BUT it's much more complicated then that.

Without winning, there is no ambition to win again, and no self value. If someone never one anything, they'll probably think of how pathetic they are because they believe they can't win anything, rather then they just didn't. It's just that they didn't win, when they think they can't. And that type of thought is only hurtful to them.

Now, losing is just as important as winning too in my opinion. Without losing you lose a sense of value. You don't really appreciate what you've obtained, and believe it's a divine right of yours rather then maybe the others need to practice more or something along those lines. Without losing, there is no sense of equality.

So this is my explanation to why winning is important, but not everything.

11/15- I'm Thankful for...

I'm thankful for most things in my life.
I'm thankful for the house I have, the father I have, the mother I have...not so much my brother. haha

I could've had abusive parents, or parents that neglected me. Jake can be difficult to deal with at times, but the fact is, if I was ever made fun of, or yelled at, he wouldn't waste a second in turning into a furious madman, and call them out. He's very...protective. But I know he cares, and that's what really matters.
I could not have a home. I could'a lived in a box, or in a country that has no clean water. Or a country that gave me no rights if I was arrested for no reason. I'm not perfect, and I'm sure I don't notice other things that I should be thankful for, so I'm thankful for those unknown thing's too.

I'm lucky I have a father that's able to support me and Jake even after our mother has passed away. And I'm lucky my mom didn't suffer too much before she passed. I'm lucky I have a boyfriend that doesn't hit me, and treats me like a lady, instead of his B-I-T-C-you know where I'm going with this.

I'm lucky I have three older brothers, that although they have a different father, still want to keep connected with me an Jake, instead of not care for us because we're not pure blood siblings. I'm lucky my dad isn't one of those fathers that'll choose my life for me, and get mad at me if I didn't live how he wanted me to live. I'm just purely lucky for more then I could even say in this blog. I'm just lucky. And I'm very thankful for having such an opportunity.

I hope one day, I'll be able to see all that I'm lucky for. And I'll be able to thank all of it.

11/12-Dinner with the Dead

The people I would love to have dinner with would probably be Edger Allen Poe, whoever Jack the Ripper was, and my mom. And just in spite of Mr. Currin, I'm adding a fourth, Sherlock Holmes. Yes, I know he's not real, but if I could meet him, I wouldn't think twice to saying yes!

Edger Allen Poe
I want to meet him because he's my favorite poet in the world. I admire him a lot. I love to write, and one thing I absolutely love to write the most is horror, and that is Poe's specialty. My favorite work by him is probably The Cask of Amontillado. Where the main character plans to plot revenge on another, getting the man drunk and disorderly before leading him down into some catacombs, and tying him up, right before closing the man in by building a brick wall in the only opening, sealing the man in a room with no way out, to die.

Jack the Ripper
I want to figure out what the hell happened. I don't really know why. And if I get to meet him, I want him in a strait jacket. Honestly? I have a theory of who Jack the Ripper is. Either he's 1. Man Bear Pig: Because that thing is BEAST. 2. Raptor Jesus: Just cause it's so like him to slaughter a bunch of hookers, and lastly 3. Bob Saget: Because he's Bob freakin' Saget. He'd do it. He can do ANYTHING. Then again.........I think I might know another person who could of done it. Chuck Norris. He can get away with anything. I'd love to have dinner with him. Hopefully he won't implode my face.

Karen Koziel
Cause she's my mom, and I miss her, of course. hahaha I could make her dinner for the first time and see how much she'll make fun of me for it for how FAIL it'll be. LOL

Sherlock Holmes
THAT MAN IS MY HERO. If he was real, I would adopt him, and have him figure out wear my freakin' car keys are! GENIUS. I literally think that this man is the greatest man on earth. Even though he's not real. lol

11/8- Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, half of my family dresses up as Native Americans, while the other half dresses up as pilgrims. My twin, Jake, even dressed up as a turkey one year.

Our customs are the same, we watch the parade, we join our family, we eat a huge meal, and we talk and mingle. Nothing's really different besides the dressing up part.

The parade isn't always a 'custom' seeing as we don't ALWAYS watch it, but usually we do. I have a large amount of family members, and that means we need a big enough house to fit us all, so depending on who's willing to host the party, and has room for it means who's house were spending Thanksgiving at. And also the fact that I have planty of family members in other states, like Virginia, Texas, Washington, New Jersey and more, it varies every year on who is there because sometimes they can't always make it.

Usually family members that visit either see us at Thanksgiving, or Christmas, and the choice differs with every different family member. So somtimes a family mamber from Virginia will see us Thanksgiving, while the one from Texas sees us Christmas, but the next year they both show up at Christmas. It's always different.

And everyone always comes to New York to celebrate the holidays because most of the family lives here.

Whoever hosts the Thanksgiving party makes the turkey, and other members just collaborate and make the side dishes. Although, my cousin Becky always makes the deserts, because she is a baking expert. She even made her own wedding cake.
